FYI: Drink this site up

I’ve been finding more and more designers that don’t know about this great site. They have tutorials (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), daily design inspiration (that ranges from GD, to fine art, to video), and tons of great resources (psd files, fresh free fonts). To top that all off, the site is beautiful and I have yet to find any of their articles to be anything but enlightening. Check it out!

Tobias Bergdahl’s Paradoxes of Graphic Design

I found these today and was quite impressed. It’s incredible how easily you can educate and inspire people while incorporating aesthetically pleasing graphics.

UPDATES: Bad News & Good News

So I realized how hard I failed to actually get the Sound to Sight series done. I’ve decided to do it during the summer when I have days free of Design, Typography, poster building, portfolio compiling, editing, production, package creation… Days when I can do some good old drawing again. There’s your lump of coal. Now, I’ll give you the reward… I’ll give you a hint. It’s not gold. Now that I have a bit of free time at least to work on the site, I’ll slowly be uploading all of the work I did for the semester. Well, anything portfolio worthy at least. I am also working on a big piece right now for my best friend. He has been on the brink of explosion for the new Star Wars: The Old Republic game and went on about how he couldn’t wait to customize himself a space bounty hunter. So, I decided to create one for him. I already finished the sketch and now I am incorporating a wanted poster style background. The awesome thing about the bounty hunter though, is that he has aspects of Old Wild West cowboy and Star Wars bounty hunter, so I think you’ll all enjoy it. After I get the illustration situated in the poster I’m going to find a sexy layout for some type. Not sure what I’m going to call him yet…
